This project explores the unique relationship between Soviet collectivist ideology and urban planning in Visaginas, highlighting how communal values influenced the city’s architectural and social landscape. Using children’s playground games - an enduring cultural metaphor from the Soviet era - as a lens, the editorial book examines how public spaces were deliberately designed to encourage collective interaction rather than individualism. Through a combination of fieldwork, historical research, and creative interpretation, the book offers a nuanced reflection on how ideology shaped everyday urban experiences.
